BLOOD KISS

FLASHBACKS OF THE SHOOT

Production Wrapped 5 January, 2000

INTRO: This is where you get a chance to see some of the scenes that weren't included in the movie.  As to why they weren't included, you'll just have to wait till the Book of the Movie comes out.

"Pale Blood"  is one of the sequences written for "Blood Kiss" that didn't make it into shooting, but was storyboarded by Jay Berkowitz.  Here is a look at the scene.

INT. A COLLEGE CLASSROOM - DAY

It is somewhat large, but a typical classroom with the desks and the teacher's desk.  Wisp is sitting on the desk, with her legs folded under her reading a book on Victorian Erotica.  She doesn't look up as a PALE KID and a SMILING GIRL walk into the room.  The Pale Kid is holding a folder.  He puts it out to Wisp.

WISP

Don't you dare touch me.

PALE KID

The test was wrong.  They mixed me up with some other kid.

She takes the folder and opens it.

PALE KID (cont'd)

I don't see what getting a blood work up has to do with being part of a philosophy class.  My health has nothing to do with my mind.

JACOB

Your health has everything to do with your mind, Son.

The Pale Kid steps back as Jacob walks into the room.  He leans by Wisp and takes the folder from her.  He opens it, and begins to read the pages, while still talking to the Pale Kid.

JACOB (cont'd)

These vessels that we call our bodies are not the true self, but they link to who we really are.  The vessel can be damaged, but the blood must always be pure.  And you-

He looks up to the Pale Kid, gives a smile to Wisp, and turns back to the Pale Kid.

JACOB (cont'd)

have very pure blood.

Wisp puts the book down and moves off the table.  She stands very close to the Pale Kid.

Jacob sits at his desk.  He takes a notebook and begins to write on it.

JACOB (cont'd)

You are to meet me at my house.

The Pale Kid takes the paper and looks at it.

PALE KID

That's kind of late, isn't it?

Jacob nods.

JACOB

You can bring your friend here if you think I'm dangerous.

PALE KID

No, I didn't mean that.  It's just.  It's just unusual.  Don't you have class times?

Wisp walks over and leans against Jacob.  It is then that JUNE KELLY almost comes into the room.  In certain lights, she looks a little like Wisp, but her eyes are softer. She stops at the door and looks inside.

JACOB

Son, you will learn that I believe unusual is having set times and being herded into little rooms, while someone spouts off knowledge from a book.  Something which you are probably going to forget in a few years anyway.  The lessons you learn from me will carry over into your next life.

The Pale Kid tries to shake  Jacob's hand, but Jacob waves him off.  He walks to the door.  The Smiling Girl sighs and starts to speak, but doesn't.

JACOB (cont'd)

I expect you there as well Miss.

He puts out his hand.  She takes his hand and he kisses her hand.  She runs after the Pale Kid, who is now out of the door.

Jacob starts to go through his desk.  He finds some papers and begins to look them over.  He stands and walks to the door.  He looks down at June.

JUNE

Professor Pinard.

JACOB

Miss Kelly.

He walks past her.  June walks over to Wisp as Wisp sits back on the desk.  June picks up the book of erotica.

JUNE

Required reading for this class?

WISP

No, Miss Kelly, it is not.

June slams the book down on the desk. Wisp jumps a little.

WISP (cont'd)

You stop that.  I'm not doing anything.

JUNE

I 'm your cousin, Wispy, don 't tell me you don 't want him.

Wisp holds her arms across her breasts.

WISP

I do.  Just not the way you think.

June shakes her head. She puts her hand on Wisp 's forehead.

JUNE

I can't keep covering for you not coming home till 3am.

WISP

I wish you understood.

JUNE

Why don't you make me understand?

Wisp hugs her and lays her head on June's shoulder.  She takes her hand and reaches into her coat sleeve. She pulls out a special needle.  This "needle" is about five inches long, silver, hollow and about 1/4 of an inch wide.

Wisp starts to jab it into June's neck, when the Pale Kid and the Smiling Girl come back into the room.  Wisp twirls around, places the needle behind her back, and leans against the desk.  June turns to the two walking into the room.

The Pale Kid walks over and grabs the folder and the paper that was inside it and smiles at Wisp.  He runs to the door.

Then the Pale Kid and the Smiling Girl are gone. Wisp pouts.  June takes the erotica book and goes to the door.

JUNE (cont'd)

Dinner is at nine, Wispy.  Be on time, okay?

Wisp sticks out her tongue.  June walks out of the door.  Wisp looks at her needle. She holds it close to her chest.  She looks around.  She presses it against her own palm, till blood squirts out.  As soon as the blood squirts out, she presses her palm to her lips.
